The Blue Bloods cast is moving on from the police procedural drama, as Will Hochman is the latest cast member to land a new role following the CBS show’s series finale.
Variety revealed on Wednesday, March 19, that Will, 33, was cast in The Boys prequel series Vought Rising. Additionally, Elizabeth Posey was also announced as part of the cast for the new show, based on Amazon’s superhero smash hit.
Many likely know Will since when he previously portrayed Joe Hill on Blue Bloods from season 10 through season 14. His character made an appearance at the final Reagan family dinner after several seasons of tension with him and some members of the Reagan crew. His character had one of the most interesting arcs in the CBS show as the son of late Joe Reagan and Paula Hill, having to prove himself as both a detective and a reliable family member.
Before the Blue Bloods series finale aired in December 2024, Will reflected on filming the final family dinner with the rest of the cast.
“I joined the show a few weeks before the Covid pandemic began,” he told TV Insider in November 2024. “Now, here we are four years later and one of the few things that remains in the midst of navigating that time was getting to gather around the Reagan table and bring family dinner to life.”
“I will miss it,” he confessed. “The final family dinner had an extraordinary feel to it, maybe even a kind of sacred feeling. After 14 years, this was the last one. This was it. I did my best to be as present as possible and to take it all in, to look people right in the eye and to be there together.”
He also reflected on his emotions final day on set with his Blue Bloods costars.
“It was a hot, sunny, June day. I remember sweating a lot and feeling a wonderful combination of joy, presence, and gratitude,” Will recalled. “Everyone was there. Everyone. Hands were held. Jokes were made. Tissues were offered. It was the best.”
Luckily for fans, it doesn’t look like his acting career will be slowing down any time soon given the new casting news.
