During a recent conversion with Parade, the actor said,
“I can’t give you the exact reason why today, because that would be a big spoiler. But I would say this, as family-oriented as Danny is, he’s also always marched to the beat of his own drum. I think those two things can be true at the same time. He can march to the beat of his own drum, and it can still be about family… It’s going to be a journey and a process for him. He’s with the audience who says, ‘I can’t imagine Danny would move to Boston,’ well, neither can he. He’s with you. He’s going to have to figure this out because it’s a dramatic life change.”
The Reagan Family Will Never Be Too Far Away
No matter what Danny’s decision to leave New York City behind to strike out on his own may be, Wahlberg has previously teased that his character’s family will never be too far away — after all, the two cities are easily connected by bus, train, or parkway.
Leaning into the deep connection between the Reagan family tree, Wahlberg said,
“Now, it’s just Danny going to this new world, but I can’t say a lot about it — but I could say, if he’s a Reagan, it will never be just Danny. There’ll always be a Reagan a phone call away. And the traditions that the Reagans have, Danny wouldn’t abandon those traditions.”
