The final season of Blue Bloods has officially wrapped filming.
Posting an image to mark the occasion on Instagram Stories (via Deadline), Donnie Wahlberg, Marisa Ramirez and Vanessa Ray were seen embracing each other on their final day on set.
Sharing a video of himself going on to set for his final episode, Wahlberg – who stars as Danny Reagan in the series – shared his sentiments over the series ending, writing: “Last day of Blue Bloods.
“Not sure I have the words to describe how I feel about today, or the last 14 years on this special Blue Bloods journey, but I do know how incredibly thankful I am for every moment of it. To the cast, the crew, the guest cast, every background actor, writer, producer and every member of every single dept — thank you.”
Wahlberg continued: “To the people of New York, in every neighbourhood and borough, thank you for always showing your love. To the NYPD, thank you for your support and sacrifice, I hope we did you proud.”
Having launched back in 2010, and 275 episodes later, the series is officially coming to an end.
The show, which is led by Magnum, PI and Friends star Tom Selleck as patriarch Frank, is a mix of family drama and police procedural, and boasts a well-known cast, including Wahlberg and John Wick’s Bridget Moynahan as two of Frank’s kids.
We now know that the upcoming 14th season of the show will not only be split into two parts, but it will be the series’s last run, with president of CBS Entertainment, Amy Reisenbach, and president of CBS Studios, David Stapf, saying in a joint statement: “Blue Bloods will forever be a beloved part of CBS’s legacy.
“It ruled Friday nights with unprecedented dominance since its premiere and established itself as a pillar of our winning line-up with an exceptionally devoted fan base.
“We’ll be forever grateful to the legendary Leonard Goldberg for developing this signature series, and to the amazing cast led by Tom Selleck, who America embraced as family and watched as welcomed guests at the Reagan dinner table.
“We also sincerely thank the incredible writing and producing teams guided by executive producer Kevin Wade for years of compelling episodes, as they conceive this final chapter that we expect to be the most satisfying season yet for our loyal viewers.”

Will Blue Bloods season 14 be the show’s final season?
Sadly, it will. It has already been announced that the 14th season of the long-running series will be its last, with star Tom Selleck saying: “For the past 13 years it has been an honour and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family.
“Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes.
“Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support, and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”
On the bright side for fans, the new season will be an extended, two-part run, with the first 10 episodes arriving first before the final eight air at a later date.
