One of the longest-running police procedurals in television history, Blue Bloods will return for the second half of its 14th and final season this October now that CBS has announced its fall 2024 schedule. The first 10 episodes aired earlier this year, and now the final eight episodes will run.
“For the past 13 years it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family,” said series star Tom Selleck, who plays NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan.
“Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes. Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”
And even as it’s labeled a police procedural, the truth is Blue Bloods is more of a family drama, the family being the Reagans, the first family of New York law enforcement, with Selleck starring as Police Commissioner Frank Reagan as well as the patriarch of the family as father to Danny (Donnie Wahlberg), Erin (Bridget Moynahan) and Jamie (Will Estes).
When does Blue Bloods return?
Blue Bloods will premiere the second half of its 14th season on Friday, Oct. 18.
