Good news has finally come from the ton ahead of Season 4: Simone Ashley will be reprising her role on Bridgerton as Kate Sharma.
The actress confirmed the news during a recent interview with Glamour UK.
“I know that I am returning but that’s all I can say,” she said.
She added, “I absolutely adore the show, and the more I can be a part of it, the better. They’ve been really kind to work around my schedule.”
Though she didn’t reveal too much about what fans should expect from the new season, which is currently slated for 2026, any news about Kanthony is good news when it comes to Netflix’s hit series.
Bridgerton fans were in an uproar when Ashley’s name was noticeably missing from Netflix’s Season 4 announcement though Jonathan Bailey, who plays her love interest Anthony Bridgerton, was confirmed to be returning. Fans are yearning for Anthony and Kate to get more screen time in Season 4. But their future on the ton is up in the air as Season 3 ended with them teasing the prospect of traveling to India.
Executive producer and showrunner Jess Brownell praised their performance as Kate and Anthony on the show, but noted that they still wanted to support the actors’ endeavors outside of the show.
“I think the strength of sending them off to India for a little while is that it does leave the door open for them to come back, schedules allowing,” she told Teen Vogue after Season 4 premiered this summer.
She continued, “I think, understandably, when any of our lead actors have given over their lives for their season, in future seasons, we want to be supportive of the fact that they do have other projects coming in, and to ask actors to come back just to be in the background is not really fair to them. We love Jonny and Simone, and we’ll have them back as much as we are able to.”
She also acknowledged that their on-screen chemistry is off the charts. “They give so much, even with just tiny little looks and gestures. They’re a magic pairing, absolutely,” she said.
In a separate interview with Glamour, Brownell promisingly teased that she has “some really exciting” ideas for Kate and Anthony in Season 4.
It remains to be seen just how much the newlyweds will be featured in Season 4. The new season will mainly follow Luke Thompson‘s Benedict Bridgerton, who is finally making his highly anticipated entrance to the marriage mart.
Per Netflix, “The new season will focus on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict (Luke Thompson) and his quest to find the mesmerizing Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).”

Production for Season 4 recently began in Sept. But Brownell recently let fans know there may be quite a wait before the show returns with new episodes.
