Will Francesca’s story continue in Bridgerton Season 4?
While not exactly clear if it will take place interwoven with Benedict’s story like it did with Colin and Penelope’s, Francesca’s love story will continue with plans from showrunner Jess Brownell. The sixth Bridgerton child, who was recast from Ruby Stokes to Hannah Dodd for Season 3, has a tragic first love story in When He Was Wicked, but a big twist at the end of Season 3 revealed gender-bending changes afoot for the character.
Instead of meeting her husband John Stirling’s (Victor Alli) male cousin Michael, who grows to covet Francesca in the book, at the end of Season 3, the more reserved Bridgerton sibling makes the acquaintance of Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), and if Francesca’s star-struck, tongue-tied nature means anything, it’s that she could be headed for a “queer happily-ever-after” in Brownell’s words.
With the announcement of Benedict’s stepping into the spotlight for Season 4, a teaser video of his getting a suit tailored specifically for the Masquerade Ball was released.
Will Colin and Penelope be back for Season 4?
Nicola Coughlan told TheWrap that the pair will reprise their roles in Season 4.
What about Kate and Anthony?
Jonathan Bailey’s charming Viscount Bridgerton suggested that he and his pregnant wife Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) visit her home in India to prepare for the birth of their child and introduce the baby to family and heritage there. Ashley said at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival in Monaco in June 2024 that she and Bailey will do all they can to make their schedules work so that they can reprise their characters in the show, according to People.
Phoebe Dynevor came back for Season 2 as Daphne Bridgerton, or the Duchess of Hastings, but Rege-Jean Page did not reprise his role that season, and she confirmed her exit ahead of Season 3’s release.
