Not that we’re willing 2025 away, but we’re looking ahead to 2026 eagerly as we await the release of Bridgerton season four.
Christmas has come early as Netflix has treated us to a new look at the racy period drama’s fourth instalment, with a glimpse at Nicola Coughlan’s Penelope living her best life at a masquerade ball.
Nicola is seen looking fabulous in a black and gold ensemble, tapping into her inner Lady Pirate in an exuberant pirate hat and black eye mask.
Despite the excitement surrounding the new look at Penelope, fans have one burning question: where the hell is Colin!? Our eyes have yet to be graced by Penelope’s handsome hubby, played by Luke Newton, and viewers are growing impatient.
‘Gimme Pirate Colin for the love of God,’ one fan demanded, as another penned: ‘Where’s dad of the year, aka Colin ‘my wife’ Bridgerton?’
‘Where the hell is our husband #ColinBridgerton?,’ someone else asked, as a fourth wrote: ‘Pirate pen is HAWT. Pirate Colin next?’
Luke Thompson’s character Benedict will take centre stage in season four with a twist on the tale of Cinderella, opposite his leading lady Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha.
A synopsis of season four reads: ‘Sophie Beckett has been forced to spend much of her life working as a maid for the most demanding employer in the ton.

‘But the resourceful Sophie always finds a way to persevere through her circumstances — circumstances which will drastically change after she disguises herself to attend Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball and meets Benedict Bridgerton.’
Season four is based on Julia Quinn’s novel, An Offer From A Gentleman. The story sees Benedict fall for one Sophie Beckett. She’s the illegitimate daughter of an Earl, and after his death, ends up being forced to work as a servant for her stepmum, Araminta, and step-sisters, Rosmund and Posy.
One night, Sophie sneaks out to Lady Violet Bridgerton’s famous masquerade ball, where she meets Benedict and dances with him until she flees the scene at midnight. Sound familiar?
Our Prince Charming then spends two years trying to track her down with the intent of marrying her.
In an enemies-to-lovers-esque storyline, their paths cross again when Sophie comes to work for the Bridgertons. They begin to explore their relationship, but because Benedict is besotted with his masked woman, things aren’t quite plain sailing.
While we can’t wait to watch Benedict and Sophie’s love story unfold on the small screen, we’re even more excited to see the character development of some of our favourites, from new parents Polin to Lady Violet Bridgerton’s new romance.
