Bridgerton fans, we won today.
Not only has the Bridgerton season four lead been revealed by Netflix, but we now have our first preview of his love interest, Sophie.
Netflix revealed in a quick thirty-second video that Yerin Ha has joined the cast of Bridgerton season four and will star as the fan-favorite character who crosses paths with Benedict in the book at a masquerade ball.
How close season four will stick to Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman is unknown, but Netflix detailed the masquerade meet in their article “Which Bridgerton couples are still together?”
“What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome,” Yerin Ha told Tudum at Netflix, “Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”
Luke Thompson, who plays Benedict, also revealed a little sneak peek of the upcoming season in the interview with Tudum, saying, “We had a dance rehearsal today. I’ve only stepped on Yerin’s toes once, which is good.”
Ha teased some of her audition process, saying the theme of masks was a prominent part, “When does Sophie put on this mask to cover her emotions? Or vice versa, when does she take it off and when does she soften up? Playing with those [questions] is just really fun.”
Ha most recently appeared in the TV series Halo, as well as having roles in Reef Break, Troppo, and Bad Behaviour.
She will now next be seen in Dune: Prophecy as Young Kasha, as well as in The Survivors as Mia.
