Bridgerton Season 5 Theory: Why Fans Believe Hyacinth’s Society Debut Is Coming Sooner Than Expected md18

While Bridgerton fans have plenty of theories about the imminent fourth season, some are already looking even further ahead to Season 5 of the Regency drama. The biggest question is whether the next installment will focus on Eloise (Claudia Jessie) or Francesca (Hannah Dodd), but some predict that another Bridgerton sibling will also get some time in the spotlight: Hyacinth (Florence Hunt).

Of course, fans don’t think Hyacinth will become the lead just yet. Bridgerton has been slightly switching up the order of Julia Quinn’s book series, but Hyacinth’s book is the final installment. Thus far, as the youngest of the Bridgerton clan, she’s hardly had any time to shine over the past three seasons, but it sounds like that’ll start to change in Season 4.

Hunt recently revealed that she has a “maturing arc” this season (per Hunger Magazine), leading some to believe that Hyacinth may be preparing for the marriage mart in Season 5. At this point, Hyacinth is far too young to do such a thing, but depending on how much time passes in Season 4 — and between Seasons 4 and 5 — it could be possible.

Hunt’s comment got a Reddit user‘s gears turning about what Hyacinth will go through in the upcoming seasons, writing, “This convinces me that Hyacinth is going to go through a journey where she realizes the marriage mart isn’t what she imagines it to be and seeing how hard Sophie [Yerin Ha] has had to deal through with life and being illegitimate she will eventually realize that other people outside of the ton don’t have it easy as well.”

They wrapped up the post by suggesting that Season 5 will feature Hyacinth’s debut into society, predicting that “she will be in the marriage mart for a long time just like Eloise because perhaps her standards are too high but she won’t hate it like Eloise she’ll just be careful who she chooses to marry.”

Quinn’s book about Hyacinth, It’s in His Kiss, finds a 22-year-old Hyacinth having already spent three seasons on the marriage mart, which has lost the allure it once had. Having turned down multiple proposals, she’s edging toward spinster status. The book takes place about a year after Francesca’s and Eloise’s, which have overlapping timelines.

The show is speeding things up a bit and has been known to deviate from the books, but this theory doesn’t seem so far-fetched to us. We’ll have to see where Season 4 takes Hyacinth first, of course! But never mind what we think — what do you think of this Bridgerton theory? Let us know in the comments below!
