Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey has officially confirmed his return for season 4.
Following the latest batch of episodes of the Netflix period drama, we know that season 4 is set to move the focus on to Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton.
Now it has been confirmed that his big brother Anthony (Bailey) will still be around, possibly to offer some sage advice after his own romantic journey.
Bailey announced the news on Good Morning America, stating that: “I have a couple of weeks etched out in my schedule for returning. I look forward to reading the scripts.”
The actor added: “The thing about Bridgerton, which is so brilliant, is that there’s so many different ways you can fall in love as humans and that’s what this show will explore. Obviously being the older brother, I’m going to be there to support the youngsters as we go.”
He also said that he was very excited to see Benedict take the stage, calling the character “full of wonder and joy. He’s the beating heart of the family. Luke Thompson is going to be stunning”.
Sadly it might be a while before we get season 4, as showrunner Jess Brownell said back in June that we might be waiting until 2026 for it.
“We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film,” she explained. “Then they have to be edited, then they have to be dubbed into every language.
“And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace. We’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range.”
This week also saw a bit of new casting for season 4, with Halo star Yerin Ha set to play Benedict’s love interest Sophie Beckett.
