A Bridgerton icon’s new thriller has landed the number one spot on the Netflix UK chart.
The “intense disaster” movie, which arrived on Netflix yesterday, is directed by Tommy Wirkola and has left many viewers “hooked”.
Many Bridgerton fans will recognize Daphne Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor, who leads the cast as Lisa alongside actors including Djimon Hounsou, Alyla Browne, Stacy Clausen and Dante Ubaldi.
Fans have been praising her “incredible” acting skills, with others admitting the “suspenseful” shark movie had left them on the edge of their seats.
The official synopsis for the new Netflix film reads: “When a catastrophic hurricane slams a coastal town, stranded residents must survive rapidly rising waters swarming with ravenous sharks.”
The movie, titled Thrash, has opened to mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike, with just a 40% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
While some unimpressed viewers were left “speechless” by what Thrash had to offer, others “loved” the film.

One Rotten Tomatoes user praised: “Suspenseful film, had me on edge in parts, I can never usually keep my attention on a film but this one had me hooked all the way through. Would definitely watch again. Must watch film!!”
“Suspenseful. Main characters worth rooting for,” a second wrote, as a third agreed: “Surprisingly tense and well acted!”
On X, formerly Twitter, another excited fan commented on the trailer: “Great. PHOEBE is incredible…” Another added: “Isn’t this full of thrill and suspense.”
Not everyone was a fan, however, as one person commented on Rotten Tomatoes: “Just not a good movie or thriller, couldn’t even finish it. Was not very believable or interesting – very cliche. Was excited for a shark disaster movie but this is not it.”
