Bridgerton fans, unite! The steamy Netflix series has become one of the most popular shows on the streaming platform since season 1 first premiered in 2020. Now, season 4 is coming — and fans can’t wait to finally see another Bridgerton love story unfold.

Production on season 4 began in April 2024, and it is rumored to begin filming in September 2024.
Based on the books by Julia Quinn, season 1 of Bridgerton first premiered in 2020, quickly receiving renewal for a second season. In 2021, Netflix announced a double renewal for both seasons 3 and 4.
Showrunner Jess Brownell, who took over for creator Chris Van Dusen, teased the next chapter in April 2024, telling TV Insider, “I won’t give you anything, but I do think that there are some clues at the end of Season 3 of where we’re headed.”
“So yeah, I leave that to fans to pick apart, but I think we’re tipping our hand just a little bit,” she added.
In June 2024, it was confirmed that the next Bridgerton who would be falling in love in season 4 would be Benedict (played by Luke Thompson).
ICYMI, each season of Bridgerton covers a book by Quinn, with each one focusing on a specific couple. However, Netflix has not been necessarily going in order — while season 1 and season 2 followed the first two books, Daphne and Simon and Anthony and Kate, they skipped book 3, Benedict and Sophie and moved straight to Colin and Penelope.
That being said, the next season’s couple is, in fact, Benedict and Sophie’s love story, which follows Quinn’s third book, An Offer from a Gentleman.
In August 2024, it was announced that Yerin Ha would be playing Sophie.
In July 2024, Jess shared details on what’s to come for Benedict’s character to Tudum. “It felt important for him to explore the fullness of himself before he settles down. He is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode.”

It’s confirmed that Penelope and Colin from season 3 will still appear, as we’ve seen some exits happen after past seasons.

Simone confirmed her participation in season 4 during an interview with Glamour published in October 2024.
“I know that I am returning but that’s all I can say. I absolutely adore the show, and the more I can be a part of it, the better. They’ve been really kind to work around my schedule.”
