Bridgerton star Jessica Madsen has celebrated the beginning of Pride Month by sharing that she’s “in love with a woman”.
The actor, who plays Cressida Cowper on the hit Netflix series, took to Instagram to post a series of photos and artwork celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, as well as a video of herself wearing rainbow rhinestones on her face and a bucket hat that reads: “LOVE SUPREME”.
“In love with a woman, loud about it and proud about it!” she captioned the post, along with the hashtags: “#pride #pridemonth #loveislove #gaypride.”
Several of Madsen’s Bridgerton co-stars were quick to share the love in the post’s comment section, including Penelope Featherington actor Nicola Coughlan and Anthony Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey, who each commented some love heart emojis.
Joanna Bobin, who plays Madsen’s on-screen mother Lady Cowper, wrote: “Go baby girl! Love you”, while Hannah Dodd, who plays Francesca Bridgerton, added: “Love youuuuuu” along with a yellow heart emoji.
Madsen and her co-stars will return to screens this month, with the second part of Bridgerton season three set to premiere on Netflix on June 13.
The new season’s first four episodes premiered on May 13, focusing on the blossoming romance between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington.
Part 1 scored a massive achievement for Netflix in its first few days of release, debuting with an impressive 45.1 million views and 180 million hours viewed.
While this is lower than season two’s debut of 193 million hours viewed, this is because only the first half of season three is available, while the entirety of season two dropped all at once.
Bridgerton seasons 1-2 and season 3, part 1 are streaming now on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Season 3, part 2 premieres on June 13.
