
CBS has released synopses for more than a dozen premieres, including FBI, Ghosts and NCIS.
The following list, which is ordered by airdate, offers fresh intel and even fresher photos from all of your broadcast favorites — first looks at highly anticipated spinoffs Boston Blue and Sheriff Country, and the beginning of the end for The Neighborhood.
As previously reported, CBS Premiere Week kicks off on Sunday, Oct. 12, with Matlock and Elsbeth, and wrapping the following Sunday with Jensen Ackles’ return to Tracker. In between, you’ll get fresh episodes of Fire Country, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and Watson, and the premiere of new comedy DMV. (Unscripted vets Survivor and The Amazing Race return in September.)
Survivor
“Act One of a Horror Film” – Eighteen strangers are abandoned on the islands of Fiji with the chance to win $1 million. Tribes must claim victory in the grueling marooning challenge to earn essential camp supplies. Then castaways are chosen to face off with a huge reward on the line.
Season 49 Premiere Date: Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 8 pm
The Amazing Race
“Two Worlds Colliding” – Host Phil Keoghan invites 13 former Big Brother players to compete on a journey around the world with their loved ones.
Season 38 Premiere Date: Thursday, Sept. 25 at 9 pm; Episode 2 airs in its regular time slot, Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 9:30 pm.
Matlock
“The Before Times” – Matty questions the paternity of the man claiming to be Alfie’s father. Also, the team takes on an arson case while Olympia tries to protect Julian’s involvement in the Wellbrexa case.
Season 2 Premiere Date: Sunday, Oct. 12 at 8:30 pm; Episode 2 airs in its regular time slot, Thursday, Oct. 16 at 9 pm.
Elsbeth
“Yes, And…” – Elsbeth dives into the world of late-night comedy when backstage tensions rise between a talk show host (Stephen Colbert), his head writer Laurel (Amy Sedaris) and her on-air sidekick husband, Mickey (Andy Richter). Also, Elsbeth meets a new police officer (Lindsay Mendez) who is an aspiring stand-up comic when off the clock.
Season 3 Premiere Date: Sunday, Oct. 12 at 9:30 pm; Episode 2 airs in its regular time slot, Thursday, Oct. 16 at 10 pm.
FBI
“Takeover” – After a federal judge disappears, a routine investigation takes a dark turn as the team uncovers that the judge had been searching for his missing son on a secluded island on the city’s edge, where authority has crumbled. Meanwhile, reality weighs heavy on Jubal as he takes on a new leadership role.
Season 8 Premiere Date: Monday, Oct. 13 at 9 pm
NCIS
“Prodigal Son (Part 1)” – Reeling from his father’s murder, Parker goes to extreme lengths to hunt down the woman he holds responsible, mob boss Carla Marino, jeopardizing not only his own future but the team’s; Nancy Travis guest-stars as Parker’s sister, Navy Vice Admiral Harriet Parker.
Season 23 Premiere Date: Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 8 pm
Ghosts
“Soul Custody” – Sam, Jay and the ghosts attempt to extricate Jay from his deal with Elias Woodstone (Matt Walsh), the devil. Also, Isaac helps Patience (Mary Holland) through a crisis of confidence and Pete and Alberta navigate the fallout from their kiss.

Fire Country
“Goodbye for Now” – In the aftermath of the Zabel Ridge fire, Station 42 faces internal turmoil but must rally together for a high-stakes rescue that tests their strength, loyalty and the future of the firehouse.
Season 4 Premiere Date: Friday, Oct. 17 at 8 pm; Episode 2 airs in its regular time slot, Friday, Oct. 24 at 9 pm.
Boston Blue
“Pilot” – NYPD detective Danny Reagan teams up with Boston detective Lena Silver to investigate a deadly fire at a tech company. As they dig deeper, they uncover a complex web of secrets involving facial recognition technology, family ties and a search for justice that brings the Silver and Reagan families closer together. Bridget Moynahan guest-stars as Erin Reagan.

Tracker
“The Process” – As Colter grapples with the shocking truth surrounding his father’s death, Russell (Jensen Ackles) joins forces with his brother to help track down the missing wife and daughter of one of Reenie’s clients. Their reunion finds them mixed up in a chain of events involving a sinister underground operation known as “The Process.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage
“A Tie Breaker and a Huge Mistake” – Tensions rise in the tire store when new co-owners Georgie and Ruben realize they can’t agree on anything, and Jim struggles to find his purpose now that he’s retired.
