A Dynamic and Contrasting Partnership
FBI: CIA centers on the partnership between two very different agents. Tom Ellis plays a charismatic and rebellious CIA case officer, while his partner is a by-the-book FBI agent. Together, they form a covert task force based in New York City, tackling domestic terrorism and national security threats. Their opposing methods create intense and engaging drama.
Behind the Scenes
The series is produced by Universal Television in collaboration with Wolf Entertainment and CBS Studios. Dick Wolf, the creator behind the FBI and Law & Order franchises, serves as executive producer along with Nicole Perlman and former CIA officer David Chasteen. David Hudgins is the showrunner and developer of the series.
Straight-to-Series Order
Unlike the traditional pilot process, CBS has given FBI: CIA a straight-to-series order, demonstrating strong confidence in the project and the FBI brand. Initially planned to be introduced through a backdoor pilot on the original FBI show, casting challenges led the network to move directly to a full series order.
Looking Ahead
Following the cancellation of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, CBS is focusing on revitalizing the FBI franchise with fresh and exciting content. FBI: CIA promises to bring a new dimension to the universe by combining thrilling procedural cases with rich character development. Fans can look forward to an intense and captivating addition to the FBI lineup.
