“Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay reveals skin cancer diagnosis, undergoes surgery” md20

Gordon Ramsay is healing after undergoing surgery to remove skin cancer.

On Saturday, Aug. 30, the celebrity chef, 58, shared a photo on Instagram of his bandaged face followed by a snap of a scar as he revealed that he had surgery to remove Basal Cell Carcinoma — a type of non-melanoma skin cancer.

A large bandage was applied to the side of his jaw underneath his ear after the surgery, but once removed, a second photo showed the bandage was covering several stitches.

“Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you!” Ramsay captioned the post.

“Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend ❤️,” Ramsay urged in the caption, adding, “I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund…….😜.”

Basal Cell Carcinoma often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin and typically occurs on areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun, such as the head and neck, after long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation from sunlight, according to Mayo Clinic.

ENTERT has reached out to Ramsay’s representatives for further comment.

Ramsay’s health update comes after he was previously hospitalized due to a biking accident.

In June 2024, the MasterChef star revealed in an Instagram post that he had “a really bad accident” while biking in Connecticut that left him severely bruised all over his torso.

“I’m doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries, but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,” Ramsay explained in the caption.

“I’m thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me … but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life,” he added.

In late December 2024, Ramsay shared an update on Instagram, revealing that the bruising had since “healed.” He included a brief clip of his injuries from the accident in a year review montage video.
