Days of Our Lives dropped a bombshell on fans with the twist that Sophia (Rachel Boyd) gave birth alone and left the baby boy at a firehouse. The twist also includes Sophia lying to everyone about what happened to the baby.
Sophia tells her mother, Amy (Shi Ne Nielson), and Tate (Leo Howard) that the baby was adopted. Boyd opened up about the impact this decision will have on Sophia and those around her.
“She can never be the same again after this experience. The character will be changed forever on the other side. She is going to understand her power and her independence in a new way. And she also now has an emotional tie to another little person who she’s going to want to protect no matter what, in whatever capacity she can,” Boyd expressed to the outlet.
The actress admitted that even though Sophia gave the baby away, her mama bear instincts are in full effect. Sophia goes to great lengths to ensure the truth never comes out, and it changes the dynamic of every relationship she has.
Days of Our Lives fans know that secrets are never safe in Salem, but this secret will be for a while. Javi (Al Calderon) and Leo (Greg Rikaart) are taking care of Sophia’s son, which adds a whole new layer to this story.
