Kim Delaney, who has appeared on Chicago Fire as fan-favorite character Kelly Severide’s (played by Taylor Kinney) mother, has been arrested and charged with felony assault.
TMZ initially broke the news, reporting that she and her partner, James Morgan, were involved in a domestic dispute that turned physical early on Saturday, March 29. Police were called to their Los Angeles-area home, where both were arrested after being checked out by responding paramedics.
According to the publication’s law enforcement sources, Delaney was charged with felony assault likely to cause great bodily injury, while Morgan was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
Delaney appears in the Los Angeles Sherrif’s Department’s Inmate Information Center, which shows that she was arrested at 10:15 a.m. and booked at 11:30 a.m. The site confirms that she has received a felony charge but does not confirm the specifics. She is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, April 1, and currently does not appear to be eligible for bail.
Parade has reached out to her representative for comment.
Delaney, 63, is also known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on NYPD Blue, as well as a several-year span on All My Children as Jenny Gardner Nelson.
She and Morgan celebrated their second wedding anniversary back in October and she often showcases him on her social media account.
