‘Chicago Fire’ Actress Cause of Death
She passed away in March.
Chicago Fire actress DuShon Monique Brown’s cause of death has been revealed. According to multiple reports, the former NBC star died of sepsis, which is as an infection of the blood of unknown origin.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office also reports that hypertensive cardiovascular disease and obesity were contributing factors to Brown’s death in March.

Chicago Fire actress DuShon Monique Brown has passed away at the age of 49.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Brown, who has played Chief Boden’s assistant Connie on the popular NBC drama since 2012, died just after noon on Friday at Franciscan St. James Health hospital in Olympia Fields, IL. Her exact cause of death has not yet been disclosed, but Brown’s rep Robert Schroeder told reporters that her “untimely death” was from “natural causes,” according to USA Today.
“We are devastated by the loss of a very talented and kindhearted soul. DuShon was a film, television, commercial and voice-over actress who also graced the stages of many Chicago theaters,” Schroeder told USA Today. “She brought laughter and joy to many and will be greatly missed.”
In addition to Chicago Fire, Brown was best known for her role as Katie Welch on Prison Break, as well as guest spots on Empire and Shameless. She was also a veteran of the Chicago theater scene, having performed at Goodman, Victory Gardens, Lookingglass, and Drury Lane.
“The Chicago Fire family is devastated to lose one of its own,” the show’s executive producer Dick Wolf said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with DuShon’s family and we will all miss her.”
