Casey’s wedding to Brett in Chicago Fire season 21 is already better than Dawson’s because of one key element. Around two years since Firehouse 51 had its last wedding when Severide and Kidd tied the knot, Chief Boden and his squad have another reason to celebrate. Long-lasting love lines have been difficult to come by in Chicago Fire, partly due to the nature of its characters’ work, although there is no shortage of in-office romances throughout its run. Before they decided to tie the knot, both Casey and Brett dated other people.
To say that the pair’s dating history in Chicago Fire has been complicated would be an understatement. Before they started seeing each other, Casey was in a relationship and eventually married to Dawson, the original paramedic in charge of Ambulance 61. She worked closely with Brett when she first arrived at Firehouse 51, with the pair developing a strong friendship beyond work. To make matters more awkward, Brett was there when Casey and Dawson got hitched. Their marriage obviously didn’t last, and it’s going to be worse since Casey’s wedding to Brett is set to be better.
Casey And Brett Get A Proper Wedding In Chicago Fire Season 21
Ahead of the occasion, NBC has released the trailer for Casey and Brett’s wedding in Chicago Fire season 12, episode 6 “Port In The Storm.” The clip features snippets of the ceremony, with a good look at the bride and groom, as well as Chief Boden officiating. Meanwhile, Firehouse 51 is all dressed up watching Brett and Casey seal their forever commitment to each other. Aside from the last-minute event’s place snafu forcing them to host their wedding at a fish shop, it’s shaping up to be a lovely nuptials — one that is so much better than Casey’s previous ceremony.
In Chicago Fire season 5, Casey and Dawson got married in front of a judge in court. Despite dating for a while, the ceremony was rushed, hence why the pair wasn’t dressed for the occasion. They didn’t have anything planned and were going to tie the knot without anyone from Firehouse 51 in attendance, ironically, until Brett came through and gathered everyone. While small and intimate weddings aren’t necessarily bad, rushing to get married to the point that they didn’t have the time to bring in the people closest to them isn’t an ideal way to start a marriage
Why Casey And Brett Will Likely Last (Unlike His Marriage To Dawson)
Chicago Fire‘s earliest years were devoted to developing Casey and Dawson’s relationship. While they were fun at first, they eventually grew toxic to each other, with their affair progressively getting unhealthier with every episode. Admittedly, marrying one’s former best friend’s ex-husband has its critics, but Chicago Fire has done a great job establishing the foundation of Casey and Brett’s romance. Rooted in friendship, it organically blossomed into a romance. Because of this, they have a much better chance of lasting as a married couple after tying the knot in Chicago Fire season 12.
