The entire One Chicago lineup remains on a break tonight, Wednesday, April 17.
Chicago Fire remains on a break. We know that this latest break was going to be a long one. The good news is that it should be the last break in the One Chicago schedule.
NBC needs to space out the episodes. There are only 13 episodes to Chicago Fire season 12 due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last summer. Of course, the broadcast networks will want to get the TV schedules back to some sort of normalcy, and that means May finales.
To get May finales for the NBC shows, it means a break now. When the show does return, there are just four episodes left to the season and that should mean four weeks of back-to-back episodes until the finales at the end of the month.
What to expect when Chicago Fire returns
The good news is that the return date is set. Chicago Fire season 12, episode 10 will air on Wednesday, May 1.
We also now have a promo for the new episode, giving us a hint of what to expect. Somehow, a driver manages to get his car stuck in a building. Only, this isn’t someone driving off the road and going through a window or a door. Somehow, this car is a few floors up!
How did that happen? That’s not really the topic of discussion. Kidd and Severide need to figure out how to get the guy out of the car and then get the car down safely. That is if it doesn’t tilt and fall out of the building and onto the ground below.
At one point, Severide is on the car as it looks like it’s about to fall to the ground. And it doesn’t look like anyone has a rope around him to keep him from falling too!
