The new fall season has officially begun! This week has started to see teh returns of several hit series as well as the debuts of new originals, but if you’re hoping to enjoy a new episode of Chicago Fire and the One Chicago shows tonight we have some bad news for you.
While some of this season’s hit series have started to return, the One Chicago shows aren’t back just yet on NBC but the good news is that they will return soon! In fact, fans just have to get through one more Wednesday before NBC’s hit franchise returns with new episodes!
Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD will return for their newest seasons next Wednesday night, Sept. 25, which will bring about a night of premieres beginning with the season 10 premiere of Chicago Med, followed by the season 13 premiere of Chicago Fire, and ending with the season 12 premiere of Chicago PD. And even though the shows won’t be coming back until next week, the exciting news is that tonight NBC will be giving fans the chance to refresh themselves on what went down last season with encores of the three shows’ most recent season finales.
Tonight, NBC will be airing encores of the three One Chicago finales to help get fans ready for next week’s premieres and it’s the perfect way to catch up before the new seasons begin. Each of the One Chicago shows ended with a handful of pretty notable cliffhangers, so the timing is perfect on NBC’s part as fans can get ready for One Chicago Wednesdays to return with a rewatch of last season’s finales.
As for what fans can expect when the new seasons of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD begin next week? Well, NBC has offered up a brief teaser of what’s to come on Sept. 25 when it dropped the synopsis information for the premieres!
Up first in the season 10 premiere of Chicago Med, the ED “finds itself under water as they struggle to treat the influx of new patients and deal with bold new employees taking charge” after a commuter ship capsizes.
In the Chicago Fire season premiere, “A Monster in the Field,” change is coming to 51 as a new chief shakes things up. Also in the premiere, Violet and Novak will be teaming up to uncover the truth behind a car accident and Cruz is going to be keeping a “watchful eye on Severide and Damon’s growing bond.”
Finally, in the Chicago PD premiere, “Ten Ninety-Nine,” we’ll be jumping ahead a month after Voight’s near-death experience where the Intelligence team will be trying to stay afloat while “overwhelmed with cases as they catch a high-stakes drug bust.”
Needless to say, we should be in for a night full of exciting episodes as Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD, return with their new seasons on Wednesday, Sept. 25!
