Chicago Fire Season 13 New Cast & Returning Character Guide
Following the loss of two pivotal series regulars in season 12, Chicago Fire season 13’s cast added a couple of new names, but the majority of the list is actors reprising their established roles in the series. NBC’s procedural drama revolves around the firefighters and paramedics working at Firehouse 51 in Chicago, Illinois. Many characters have come and left the fire station over the years, and several original Chicago Fire cast members are no longer on the show. Heading into season 13, only four Chicago Fire actors who have been around since season 1 are still in the cast.
Chicago Fire season 13 picks up six weeks after the events of the season 12 finale, and there’s a new chief in town. As some may recall, Boden picked Herrmann as his successor. Instead, Boden’s replacement in Chicago Fire season 13 is someone outside Firehouse 51, meaning there is a new addition to the procedural drama’s main cast who is the other characters’ new leader.
Actor: Taylor Kinney was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he attended high school before studying Business Management at West Virginia University. It’s unclear when he switched to acting, but Kinney’s first TV credit was in 2006 when he was 25 years old. Kinney starred as Luke Gianni in Fashion House, a nighttime soap opera on MyNetworkTV, which is considered his breakout role. However, Kinney truly rose to prominence when he made his debut as Kelly Severide in Chicago Fire on NBC in 2012.
Character: Kelly Severide has been at Firehouse 51 since the Chicago Fire series premiere. Over the seasons, he has experienced a lot of heartbreak, joyous moments, and everything in between. Kinney returns as Severide in Chicago Fire season 13, and he, unfortunately, has many issues plaguing him this season. Severide is adjusting to the fact that he has a half-brother (Jack Damon) who he has never met until now. Plus, Severide and Kidd’s marriage continues to be touch and go.
