Parenting is hardly a simple prospect, and two firefighters could very well struggle to balance their obligations to the Firehouse with their need to raise their child. Adoption will help to ensure that Stella can remain in the field without the risks associated with pregnancy, but one of the parents will generally always need to be in the baby’s vicinity to ensure that they are safe. If so, Chicago Fire‘s Firehouse 51 cast may very well be losing consistency from two major cast members, which will likely spark some added drama.
If the pair does want to remain firmly affixed to Firehouse 51 with any consistency, then they may have to rely on family members for help. Stella has always had issues with connecting with family, but this baby could cause her to lean on extended family members for additional support. They could also potentially rely on the rest of the Firehouse for babysitting, though that would likely be a struggle for the rest of their team.
