Chicago Fire Season 13’s Boden Replacement Has A Problem That Eamonn Walker’s Character Doesn’t

The firefighters and paramedics of Firehouse 51 had to say goodbye to Chief Wallace Boden during the Chicago Fire season 12 finale, and his upcoming replacement will seemingly be nothing like Eamonn Walker’s character. Chief Boden has served as the leader of Firehouse 51 since the beginning of the NBC procedural drama TV series. Unfortunately, after 12 long seasons, Boden has moved on to bigger and better things. Consequently, someone else will take his place when Chicago Fire season 13 premieres and his successor will have one specific problem that Chief Boden never had.

Chicago Fire season 13 will consist of 22 episodes and premiere on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

Jumping back to the eventful Chicago Fire season 12 finale, Chief Boden applied to become the Deputy Fire Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department and was offered the prestigious position. While the new career development was exciting, it was bittersweet as it meant Chief Boden had to leave Firehouse 51. Now, an outsider will assume the position of Battalion Chief in season 13. According to the new character’s released profile, one problem in his life separates him from Chief Boden’s story in recent seasons.
