‘Chicago Fire’ Shocked Everyone With This Devastating Death
Chicago Fire is becoming infamous for its questionable decisions to kill off beloved characters. In last week’s shocking episode, “All The Proof,” the NBC drama delivered another devastating blow. It was revealed that Kelly Severide’s (Taylor Kinney) father, Benny Severide (Treat Williams), suffered a stroke and died. As if that wasn’t tragic enough, Benny passed away just minutes before Severide arrived at the hospital to say his final goodbyes.
While the father and son had a difficult relationship, it was obvious that they loved each other—and Severide was destroyed by his sudden death. Fans of Chicago Fire empathized with the grief-stricken lieutenant, and some do not seem happy with the choices the show is making for him. People quickly took to Twitter to express their concerns:
“I don’t know why Kelly Severide has to go through so much pain in Chicago Fire. I feel for him as if he was a real human character not a fictional one,” wrote one viewer.
Others agreed that Taylor Kinney’s troubled character has experienced enough pain over the years, and that the series—which is now in its seventh season—might be taking things too far.
“Seriously? Killing off his best friend and Shay I got over, breaking him up with Renee who was perfect for him, and now YOU KILL HIS FATHER? Kelly Severide doesn’t deserve all this, its not fair,” said another distraught fan.Everyone seems to be wondering the same thing: What do the writers of Chicago Fire have against poor Severide?!
