SESSER, Ill. — A TV fireman paid a visit to the real life heroes he honors week to week.
David Eigenberg, who portrays Lieutenant Christopher Herrmann on NBC’s “Chicago Fire,” visited with members of the Sesser Fire Protection District on Saturday.
The protection district had members participate in the 21st Annual Explorer Cadet Fire School on Saturday at the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Urbana.
“He stayed most of the day and visited with everyone!” wrote the protection district on Facebook.
Eigenberg has been a part of the main cast of “Chicago Fire” since the show’s start in 2012. Since then, the show has cultivated a multiverse of spin-offs for NBC.
The actor is also known for his work in HBO’s “Sex and the City.”
*An original version of this story suggested Herrmann visited officials. This has since been clarified.*
