The Chicago Med Season 10 finale was supposed to answer some questions, but it came and went, leaving fans without answers on one of the latest developments for Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram). Who is the father of the baby she’s pregnant with? And no matter how much TV Insider tried, they couldn’t get the truth out of showrunner Allen MacDonald. “I’m not going to comment on that,” he said when asked if the visit to Archer (Steven Weber) meant he was the father. “I will say that I think Hannah needs to process this in one way or another. Archer is someone who she feels very safe speaking with. I think when Hannah feels destabilized that Archer is a stabilizing force for her and vice versa,” he added.
If Archer is truly the father, Hannah and Ripley (Luke Mitchell) will drift further apart. And if he decides to pursue a relationship with the woman he saved, who showed up at his door, the Rasher door might be closed for good. However, MacDonald knows better than to close any doors for good. “I never say for sure if doors are going to be opened or closed, but I definitely think that this is a possible conundrum for Hannah because that relationship is over and it ended very, very naturally,” the showrunner shared. As for Ripley’s new potential relationship, he should not celebrate just yet. “There might be a wrench thrown in all that. So we’ll see what happens,” he teased.
‘Chicago Med’ Season 11 Will Keep Hannah Busy
The best option for Hannah would be for neither of the men to be the father. They all come with various issues that Hannah must deal with if there is a chance of making anything work. Ripley had a complicated and violent childhood, and he might not be well-equipped to raise a child. Archer’s biggest regret was his failures with his son, so he might not be interested in reliving any part of that again. “When it is finally revealed who the father of Hannah’s baby is, those two are going to have to really work it out how they’re going to move forward,” MacDonald said. After that confrontation following the pregnancy news, Hannah will also have to deal with the pressures of the strained relationship with her sister.
