The mystery of Sharon Goodwin’s stalker on Chicago Med was finally unraveled in Season 10, Episode 6 “Forget Me Not,” or at least that’s what it seems like. Goodwin received a note in the season’s third episode that read “I’m going to put a knife to your throat and watch you bleed out!” and things just kept escalating from there as Goodwin also realized the intruder had been in her home.
In Episode 6 we see that she’s staying with her boyfriend, Gaffney’s head of Oncology Dennis Washington. And though things seem to be going so well that Washington would like her to make the move permanent, Goodwin still has doubts. She’s only there because she’s in danger, and she doesn’t want to think about the issue with her stalker has been put to rest
Chicago Med Episode 6 offers an answer about the stalker, but it’s a tentative one. To do so, it brings in Chicago P.D.‘s Kevin Atwater, who informs Goodwin that former employee Patrick Dunn has been posting hateful messages on social media about her. Goodwin doesn’t really believe it could be him when she’s first told, but after being informed of what he’s posting, she acquiesces and agrees.
By the end of the episode, Patrick Dunn has shot himself after being confronted by police and it seems like the matter has been put to rest. Goodwin’s stalker is caught and she isn’t in danger anymore. The promo for the next episode doesn’t give any clues that this storyline could still be ongoing. But, with a cliffhanger likely for the midseason finale, there’s still a big chance Chicago Med picks this storyline back up.
Fans have been speculating that the real stalker could be another disgruntled employer, one we know better than Patrick Dunn. A Reddit discussion about Goodwin’s stalker proposed a theory that makes a lot of sense. There is, after all, a doctor who got recently fired who might have a reason to be upset at Goodwin for not sticking up for him, and the storyline would be a much bigger deal than if the culprit was a character we barely knew and who we didn’t even see get caught.
Dr. Zach Hudgins (Conor Perkins) was fired by Dr. Lennox in Season 10’s first episode after he abandoned a patient. Not just that, Goodwin was helping with the mass casualty even in that episode, so she was in the room when Dr. Hudgins left, and she informed Dr. Lennox of what had happened and also supported his firing. So, his holding a grudge against Goodwin makes sense.
Plus, since Dr. Hudgins first appeared in Season 8, making him the stalker would have a lot more weight-and would probably require a face-to-face confrontation with Goodwin before this whole storyline could be put to rest. You know, just the kind of thing One Chicago likes to do for mid-season finales.
