We’re officially less than two weeks away from the return of the One Chicago shows, and to tide fans over, NBC has released fresh photos from the new seasons of all three series.
The Chicago Med first look features what appears to be a serious moment between friends/colleagues (and possibly something more?) Hannah Asher and Dean Archer. Could the docs be discussing Hannah’s pregnancy following last season’s finale twist that suggested Dean could be the papa? As you’ll recall, Season 10 wrapped up with Hannah knocking on a door to, presumably, tell the father about the baby. Her ex Mitch Ripley came bounding down the stairs, but when he opened the door, it was Sadie, the woman he rescued from the well, on the other side. As for the door that Hannah was at, it belonged to Dean Archer! “We need to talk,” she announced, leaving viewers to question if something happened between Hannah and Dean the night she brought him dinner after his ex-wife’s death.
A trailer for the medical drama’s return revealed that Ripley finds out his ex-girlfriend’s secret and he’s hurt by the revelation: “You’re pregnant? How could you not tell me?” he asks Hannah. But Dean’s reaction to the big news remains a mystery for now, but if we were analyzing body language in the new images, we’d say things are not easy-breezy between Hannah and Dean.
In the season premiere, “a family of victims from a house fire are rushed to Gaffney,” reads the official episode description. “Lenox fights to save two sisters injured in an all-night rave turned tragedy. Tensions mount between Goodwin and Abrams over difficult staffing changes.”
Meanwhile, the Chicago Fire photos confirm Daniel Kyri’s return as firefighter Darren Ritter, who will be back “for a limited time only” before exiting the NBC drama. Elsewhere, new series regular Brandon Larracuente (On Call, The Good Doctor) is seen in the midst of a dangerous call as firefighter Sal Vasquez, who will cause “tension” at Firehouse 51, per the official season premiere synopsis. Plus, “rising chaos in the city brings new challenges to the team,” and “Herrmann stalls on plans of relinquishing his office to Mouch.”
The following gallery also offers a first look at Chicago P.D.’s new series regular Arienne Mandi (The Night Agent, The L Word: Generation Q) as officer Naomi Kerr, a former soldier and military contractor. In the season opener, “Voight teams up with an unlikely ally to take a killer off the streets while fighting to bring his Intelligence unit back together,” reads NBC’s description.
The new seasons of Chicago Med, Fire and P.D. premiere Wednesday, Oct. 1, starting at 8/7c on NBC.
