Chicago Med will welcome two new doctors into the fold when the NBC drama returns for a tenth season this September. The Bear‘s Sarah Ramos and Road House‘s Darren Barnet have joined the fan-favorite One Chicago series.
Where Have You Seen Sarah Ramos and Darren Barnet Before?
Although she recently appeared in The Bear as Jessica, Ramos is perhaps best known for her series regular roles on American Dreams (as Patty Pryor) and Parenthood (as Haddie Braverman). She has also appeared in Runaway, The Affair, Midnight, Texas, and Wizards of Waverly Place. On the film side, Ramos has starred in two Hallmark Christmas movies — A Kismet Christmas (2022) and Christmas in Notting Hill (2023) — and had a supporting role as Harriet Rothschild in Damien Chazelle’s 2022 epic, Babylon, opposite Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt.
As for Barnet, his breakout role was playing Paxton Hall-Yoshida in the Netflix series, Never Have I Ever, which was loosely based on Mindy Kaling’s childhood experiences in the Boston area. He also made guest appearances on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., This Is Us, and Criminal Minds, as well as appeared in the films American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules (2020), Gran Turismo, Anyone But You (both 2023), and Road House (2024). Barnet has also acted in several animated series, providing the voice for Yuichi Usagi in Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles, Mike in Skull Island, Taigen in Blue Eye Samurai, and Kenji Kon in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.
What Is Chicago Med About?
Created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, and developed by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, Chicago Med follows the emotional day-to-day chaos of the city’s newest state-of-the-art trauma center and the lives of the doctors, nurses, and staff who hold it all together. The drama series is part of the One Chicago franchise, which began with Chicago Fire in 2012. Chicago P.D. premiered in 2014, followed by Chicago Med in 2015. A fourth series, Chicago Justice, premiered in March 2017 but was canceled after one season.
Joining Ramos and Barnet in Chicago Med Season 10 will be returning stars S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, Marlyne Barrett, Jessy Schram, Steven Weber, and Luke Mitchell. Allen MacDonald serves as showrunner on Season 10, following the departures of Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider.
Chicago Med premieres on NBC on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m., with new episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
