Chicago Med Season 10 Confirms The Returns Of 3 Remaining Original Stars

Chicago Med season 10 will officially see the return of three original stars who have been in the medical drama since season 1. The One Chicago TV series recently lost Dominic Rains as Dr. Crockett Marcel in season 9, part of a much larger swath of changes coming to the series going into its next batch of episodes. The biggest alteration is that Chicago Med season 10 will be the first time showrunners Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider won’t be involved, the role now going to Allen MacDonald.

Despite big changes coming to the show, though, Deadline reports that three original stars from Chicago Med will be coming back for season 10. Maryne Barrett, S. Epatha Merkerson, and Oliver Platt will be coming back as their respective characters on the series for the upcoming batch of episodes. Even though there are changes sure to come as the new season develops, it appears the characters Maggie, Sharon, and Daniel are safe for the time being.

Who Else Will Return For Chicago Med Season 10?

As of writing, it’s unclear what other characters on the show are going to be coming back. It’s already been confirmed that Rains is leaving Chicago Med, a surprising announcement that indicates none of the actors who are currently on the show are guaranteed to be returning. However, with cast members who have been on the show since the start getting their reprisals confirmed, it seems longevity on the series could play a factor into who will be staying for sure.

In terms of main cast members, the only ones whose fates are unclear as of writing are Steven Webber as Dr. Dean Archer and Jessy Schram as Dr. Hannah Asher. Since Webber received top billing in season 9, it would make sense for him to come back, perhaps in a more well-defined leadership role than in his previous seasons. As for Schram, her leadership role in the OB/GYN Service makes her a viable candidate to continue appearing as well. Recurring characters are also likely to pop in and out, though it remains unclear how often they’ll be showing up.

However, it’s also possible Chicago Med will surprise by having another cast member announced to be exiting the series before the show returns. Even though a shakeup seems like it could happen in the upcoming season, the longevity of its current stars makes it unlikely that more are going to depart before the season begins. While the team is bound to go through some changes at some point in the future, the drastic nature of said developments won’t really be clear until the show finally comes back.
