The show returns this fall.
The network confirmed that Chicago Med will return in the Fall of 2024, airing at the 8 p.m. time slot on Wednesday nights like usual, followed by Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D.
There is no set premiere date for Season 10 just yet, nor is there an episode count, although we are expecting a regular 18-22 episode season like usual. We are also predicting that the season will premiere at the end of September as it did last year.
Co-showrunners Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider are leaving after Season 9, with Allen MacDonald stepping in.
They said in a statement, “We were honored to be chosen by Dick Wolf to run Chicago Med and have tremendously enjoyed our association with Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television. We love Chicago Med and have devoted all our creative energies to it, but after nine seasons we feel it’s time for us to move on and explore other possibilities. We’ve been privileged to work with a great writing staff, production team and a brilliant cast of actors. We will miss them all.”
Allen MacDonald is set to replace them as executive producer and showrunner.
He previously worked on Prime Video’s Harlan Coben’s Shelter, of which he served as a co-showrunner and executive producer, while his writing credits include 13 Reasons Why, CSI and Body of Proof.
