Chicago Med star Brian Tee has secured the lead role in Adult Swim’s upcoming Get Jiro! TV series. The DC/Vertigo animated adaptation received a series order in June.
According to Deadline, Get Jiro! is set “in a not-too-distant future L.A. where master chefs rule the town and people literally kill for a seat at the best restaurants. A mysterious sushi master named Jiro (Tee) enters a bloody culinary war and begins to craft his recipe for revenge.” Created by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka (Sharper, Superstore) and produced for Adult Swim by Warner Bros Animation, the half-hour animated series is based on the New York Times bestselling DC/Vertigo graphic novels from writers Anthony Bourdain and Joel Rose, with art by Langdon Foss and Alé Garza.
Netflix has announced the full starring cast for the next season of Black Mirror.
Tee is most well-known for playing Dr Ethan Choi in NBC’s acclaimed medical drama series Chicago Med for eight seasons, beginning in 2015. The prolific actor, who also appeared in Expats with Nicole Kidman, has been featured in several other projects, including The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), The Wolverine (2013), Jurassic World (2015), and 2016’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, where he played the Shredder, replacing Tohoru Masamune, who portrayed the character in the first 2014 film.
Brian Tee Will Appear in Reacher Season 3
Tee will star opposite Alan Ritchson in the third season of the Prime Video hit Reacher. The actor will play the lead villain in the upcoming season, which co-star Ritchson revealed in January 2024 adapts Lee Child’s seventh Jack Reacher book, The Persuader. In the book, Jack Reacher goes undercover as a bodyguard for Zachary Beck (Antony Michael Hall), a criminal being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Snyder confirms that work has begun on the 300 television series.
He rescues the villain’s son and works his way into his confidence to rescue an agent being held captive. Reacher, however, also has another reason for taking on the mission, specifically a man named Francis Xavier Quinn (Tee) who killed and mutilated Dominique Kohl, a woman he served with in the Army.
In addition to Tee, Ritchson, and Hall, the Reacher Season 3 cast includes Johnny Berchtold (The Passenger), Roberto Montesinos (Father Stu), and Daniel David Stewart (For All Mankind). Reacher’s ally Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, will return for the upcoming season, though she did not appear in Child’s Persuader.
