Chicago P.D. Ends Its Fall Finale With a Terrifying Cliffhanger — Is This Officer’s Life at Risk? md18

Right before Season 13 kicked off its holiday hiatus, the Intelligence Unit’s rookie took a huge risk that may not pay off.

Chicago P.D.’s fall finale was in no shortage of shocking twists and turns, leading one Intelligence Unit member to land in some serious trouble by the episode’s end.

Season 13’s “Impulse Control” was a wild ride from the jump as Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) proved to have truly spot-on instincts after a violent break-in reunited the Intelligence Unit with the goosebump-inducing Raymond Bell. The first time Voight crossed paths with Raymond, it was to let him know that his son, Gary Bell (who’d gone on a murder spree that ended his death by suicide) told the cops “he made me like this” mere moments before ending his life.

Concluding Gary was referring to his father, those last words haunted Voight and Officer Eva Imani (Ari Mandi), especially as Raymond gained custody of Gary’s young daughter, Julie.

Voight could sense there was something sinister happening inside the Bell residence, and after Imani failed to heed his warning to stay away, she got entangled in a chilling predicament. Here’s what happened:

The Intelligence Unit caught on to Raymond Bell’s reign of terror

Gary’s words left an impression on Voight, who determined Raymond had likely conditioned his son into becoming the emotionally tormented killer he became. Proving Bell’s criminal activity was difficult, but a murder in the suspect’s neighborhood gave Voight an excuse to reconnect with Raymond.

After doing some digging on Raymond and noticing signs of abuse with Julie, Voight’s investigation picked up speed with each additional testimony. Raymond had a known history of violence, and some of his suspected victims escaped, but many were believed to have lost their lives in the Bell’s basement. Several witnesses, a wine cellar with no wine, cold abduction cases, and Gary’s haunting final message painted a horrific picture.

Later, Voight and Imani caught wind that Julie was admitted to the hospital after “falling from a tree,” a canned response they felt Raymond forced the young girl to provide. During Imani’s chat with Julie, she gave the young girl her number if she ever needed anything, becoming increasingly worried after Julie named a woman from a cold abduction case a “ghost” in the Bell basement.

Voight and Imani were able to lure Raymond into the precinct to get his thoughts on a few of the abduction cases, but he’d perfectly prepared each response… until he slipped up and admitted that he’d been to a park he previously denied knowing about. Voight knew it was a detail they needed to close-in on the investigation. But time was not on the Intelligence Unit’s side, and if Voight wanted to see Raymond in prison, he’d need concrete evidence to make an arrest.

Eva Imani took matters into her own hands

After Imani received a strange text message from Julie, she asked Voight if they could go to the Bell house to check in on her, but he cautioned against it. Imani then grew panicked after receiving a call from Julie, with staggered breathing on the line. Just like Voight, Imani has a bit of a lone wolf complex and decided to travel to the Bell residence and check on Julie herself. But was it a trap?

After arriving at the Bell house that night, Imani couldn’t find Julie anywhere, while frantically searching the home for the little girl. Just as Imani found Julie’s phone on the ground, she heard a loud banging from downstairs — a sign that she may not be alone in that horror house. Chihards can’t wait to see what happens next.
