Ruzek takes center stage in Chicago PD season 13, episode 15, facing off against a questionable DEA agent.
Chicago PD is wasting no time at all in throwing Ruzek back into the deep end, it seems! Following his return in episode 14 after an extended time away from the show, Ruzek is taking center stage in Chicago PD season 13, episode 15, “Live or Die by Your CI,” giving fans the first true Ruzek-centered episode of the season!
So what do the writers have planned for Ruzek in episode 15? The official synopsis for the episode gives us a brief tease of what’s to come:
“Ruzek grows suspicious when a DEA agent contacts him for details surrounding a missing informant.”
If there is one thing we’ve come to learn over the years, it’s that when a member of the Intelligence Unit has a gut instinct, it’s worth listening to. Considering that Ruzek is uncertain of whether this DEA agent can be trusted, we have a feeling his suspicions will prove correct and that there will be more to the case than the DEA agent initially lets on.
Live or Die by Your CI photos
Unsurprisingly, with the episode putting a focus on Ruzek, he’s front and center in most of the limited images NBC released from the episode. In the first of the four photos from the episode, we see Burgess and Ruzek on the scene with the DEA agent who is riding along with them on the case. From the context of the photo, it seems this scene might be after a bust or perhaps another crime has been committed, as we see a patrol officer also on the scene and the trio seem to be discussing the case.
A second photo shows Ruzek entering a hookah bar, the same one we see in the promo from the episode, which the DEA agent working the case with them entered while Ruzek was tailing him.
We also get a new still of Imani and Atwater, who will likely be providing support to Ruzek on the case. The photo of Imani seems to be taken out in the field, hinting she’ll be working the case at some point in the field. Meanwhile, the photo of Atwater is set within the Intelligence Unit bullpen as he takes a call, perhaps from Ruzek, who would likely turn to Atwater for assistance if the DEA agent indeed proves to be dirty.
Chicago PD season 13, episode 15 promo – Lie or Die by Your CI
As the trailer opens, Burgess reveals that DEA Is running with them on the investigation, and it doesn’t take long before the promo makes it clear that Ruzek has a bad feeling something is off.
“He’s off. I can feel it,” Ruzek admits to Burgess as she questions whether he thinks the DEA agent is dirty. He admits that he’s dancing around something as we cut to Ruzek watching the agent enter the hookah bar, where he pulls a gun on the agent.
“Why are you lying to me?” Ruzek shouts as he holds the agent at gunpoint. The agent tells him to put his gun down, to which Ruzek quips, “That is not an answer.”
Clearly Ruzek walked into something if he pulled his gun on the DEA agent, and we have to wonder what exactly the agent might be hiding from Ruzek. Could it be that he hasn’t told the full truth about the CI who is at the heart of the case and has gone missing? That certainly seems like a possibility, but we’ll have to tune in to find out exactly what the agent is hiding.
