Chicago P.D. Stars Reunite as Marina Squerciati Jokes About Tracy Spiridakos ‘Eyeing’ Jesse Lee Soffer

Chicago P.D. fans are getting plenty of top-notch content from the cast—and former cast members–ahead of Season 13.

Parade previously reported that alum Jesse Lee Soffer—who portrayed Jay Halstead on the series for a decade before departing in Season 10—returned this season in a directorial role, with his presence on set bringing smiles to fans, cast, and crew alike.

The latest update involving Soffer’s time on set comes from Marina Squerciati (Kim Burgess), who shared a cast reunion photo with her former co-star, along with her on-screen love interest Patrick J. Flueger (Adam Ruzek) and LaRoyce Hawkins (Kevin Atwater).

In the shot, the foursome can be seen talking to someone via Soffer’s phone, with Squerciati revealing, “We’re Facetiming Tracy [Spiridakos] from set, except…. it looks like I only have eyes for Jesse.”

As Squerciati’s gaze lands on Soffer, she concludes, “So that’s awkward,” with a crying-laughing emoji face.

To further stir up trouble, she set the photo to “The Boy Is Mine,” the popular 90s hit by Brandy and Monica.

Spiridakos, who played Haily Upton, Soffer’s on-screen love interest in the series, quickly caught wind of Squerciati’s playful post and reshared it on her Instagram Story.

Off-screen, Spiridakos and Soffer sparked plenty of speculation about their relationship after spending most of their time together traveling throughout Europe and sharing sweet selfies, though neither has ever confirmed a romance.

While Soffer spends time on his home turf, Spiridakos is embarking on a new adventure, as it was previously announced that she will lead the upcoming USA Network series Anna Pigeon, set to premiere in 2026, and based on novels by Nevada Barr.

According to the outlet, the titular character is “a former city slicker who became a park ranger after a devastating loss changed the trajectory of her life forever. While Anna tries to outrun her demons, her focus turns to solving crimes that have taken place within national park grounds, no matter who or what gets in her way.”

As for Squerciati, she’s been teasing plenty of moments from the upcoming PD season, including sharing a glimpse at Benjamin Levy Aguilar’s new look as Dante Torres, which many fans dubbed unrecognizable.

She also teased a potential mini crossover between PD and its sister show in the One Chicago franchise, Chicago Med, posing on the set of Gaffney Medical Center with JessySchram and Sarah Ramos, who portray Dr. Hannah Asher and Dr. Caitlin Lennox, respectively.

“The girls are back in town,” she captioned the smiley selfie.

Soffer isn’t the only Halstead brother returning to the One Chicago universe, as Med star Nick Gehlfuss will be back for Season 11 in a guest-starring role following a two-year absence from the DickWolf procedural.

NBC fall premiere dates reveal that all three Chicago shows—including Chicago Fire Season 14—will return on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
