Chicago PD Season 12, Episode 13 Release Date & Time

Following a one-week break on February 12th, Chicago PD is returning this week. The most recent episode, “The Good Shepherd,” proved to be an average but nonetheless entertaining hour focused on Benjamin Levy Aguilar’s Richard Torres. This Wednesday, the long-running police procedural may be getting a little more ambitious.

Season 12, Episode 13 of Chicago PD, “Street Jesus,” looks to center LaRoyce Hawkins’ Kevin Atwater. Atwater will be aiming to stop a looming street war that threatens a community-center project he’s invested himself in. At the same time, “Street Jesus” also appears to feature the return of Atwater’s love interest, Natalee Linez’s Valerie Soto.

Season 12, Episode 12, “The Good Shepherd,” was an engaging hour of television for Chicago PD fans but a brutal experience for Officer Richard Torres. The episode follows him as he goes undercover in the juvenile detention center he spent time in as a teenager. By the end of the case, Torres is forced to shoot and kill the corrupt correctional officer responsible for exploiting the children currently living in the facility, and his faith in God is challenged.

Chicago PD is no stranger to downer endings, but hopefully, things will turn out better in Season 12, Episode 13, “Street Jesus.” NBC has released a summary of the upcoming installment, cluing in fans to what will be taking place. The logline reads, “A mounting street war threatens a community-center project that Atwater is trying to get off the ground.” With Natalee Linez credited on the episode’s IMDb page and LaRoyce Hawkins having confirmed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that her character, forensics psychologist Valerie Soto, would be returning to Chicago PD“Street Jesus” may also prominently feature Atwater’s love life. Soto previously appeared in Season 12, Episode 3, “Off Switch.”

Officer Atwater is one of the only members of Chicago PD’s original Season 1 cast to remain a part of the series. The only other characters with this distinction are Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), Adam Ruzek (Patrick Fleuger), Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), and Trudy Platt (Amy Morton). While Atwater receives more attention than many characters introduced after him, romance has never been as big a part of his story as it has been for his colleagues. If Soto begins to become a more recurring character, and she and Atwater continue to grow closer, “Street Jesus” could stand as one of Season 12’s biggest turning points.

When and Where to Watch Chicago P.D. Season 12, Episode 13, “Street Jesus”

On February 12th, 2025, Chicago PD did not air a new episode in its typical timeslot. Instead, a rerun of Season 12, Episode 4, “The After” was broadcast. Breaks like these have not been unusual for Season 12 or Chicago PD in general; they are entirely normal.

Picking up from February 5th’s “The Good Shepherd,” Season 12, Episode 13, “Street Jesus,” will be premiering on NBC on Wednesday, February 19th, in all time zones. The episode will subsequently be made available to watch on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock, on Thursday, February 20th.

Following the premiere of “Street Jesus,” Chicago PD will be proceeding with its typical weekly schedule. Season 12, Episode 14, “Marie,” will be airing on February 26th, 2025. The episode will center around Adam Ruzek as he struggles with his father’s worsening condition. In total, Season 12 of Chicago PD is currently slated to run for 22 episodes, meaning episodes will continue to air regularly for at least the next two months.

Kevin Atwater is one of Chicago PD’s most iconic characters, and it’s always a treat for fans to see him be spotlighted. Ideally, with the potential involvement of Soto, “Street Jesus” will do more to advance his story than “The Good Shepherd” did for Torres’. Viewers will have to tune in on Wednesday night to see if this happens and how.
