Chicago PD spoilers: What to expect in season 11, episode 10

The crime drama is back with even more bleakness.

That felt like a long time away, didn’t it? Chicago PD only took three weeks off, but it seems like it’s been an eternity since we’ve gotten to spend time with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) and the rest of the IU. The police drama is back in action this week, and will run uninterrupted for the rest of season 11.

The synopsis for the new episode, titled “Buried Pieces,” confirms that the running theme of child abduction and kidnapping will continue in season 11. We’ve already seen instances of kidnapping gone horribly wrong, in the Voight-centric episodes, but now fans will get a chance to see Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) take center stage.

The synopsis for the episode reads as follows:

“Upton becomes consumed with a decade-old missing persons case linked to Petrovic after a young child shows up to the district seeking help.”

The link to Josephine Petrovic is fascinating, not only because it implies the profiler may have been involved in some foul play, but because Upton is the officer who decided to enlist her to help a couple episodes back. If something were to be uncovered, Upton may be on the line in some capacity. Especially since Upton failed to report on Petrovic’s drinking problem.

Chicago PD 11×10 promo

The promo for the episode expands on the synopsis by setting an undeniably creepy tone. A little girl wanders into the police station and asks for help, at which point Upton realizes that something is terribly wrong.

Not much is given away in terms of who the culprit is, but the promo does show the IU (and some heavily armed backup) executing a raid on the little girl’s house.

Chicago PD has been increasingly interested in telling multi-part stories, so we’re curious to see if this case will be resolved in an hour or if it will continue and ultimately set the stage for Upton’s exit at the end of the season.
