Is Sharon Goodwin in danger on Chicago Med this season? A new promo has fans worried about her well-being, as she appears to be on the receiving end of a very serious threat.
The logline for the Chicago Med Season 10 third episode, titled “Trust Fall,” gives an idea of what Goodwin may be up against: “Asher treats a woman whose undiagnosed condition threatens the lives of both her and her unborn child; Goodwin receives a chilling message while battling the hospital higher-ups.”

In the promo trailer, Goodwin looks concerned while reading a note. “What is it?” Dr. Washington asks.
A closer look reveals the message: “I’m going to put a knife to your throat and watch you bleed out!”
She answers, “A death threat.”
S. Epatha Merkerson has played Sharon Goodwin, the director of patient and medical services at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, since Season 1. Is Goodwin in any danger? Perhaps, but given what Merkerson said about her character this season, she is not going to die.
In a September 13 Us Weekly interview, Merkerson said that there will “absolutely” be more of Sharon and Dr. Dennis Washington’s (John Earl Jelks) relationship unfolding in Season 10. “You will see them together more than you have in the last season when he was first introduced,” she said. “Now that that relationship has been established, I think you will definitely see more of the doctor — the good doctor.”
She added, “I’m just loving that whole thing with Dr. Washington. I think it’s so important that especially women of a certain age, find themselves in these situations where, you know, they’re giggly, because that’s exactly what no one expects from Goodwin, right? I’m looking forward to what that will bring.”
A relationship storyline isn’t all that Goodwin has going on this season, however. With a nearby hospital closing and new staff in the mix, her work life is pretty hectic.
“All of the people that work at the hospital, plus their patients, are coming to us. Some people are going to have to leave,” Merkerson said. “She’s going to bring in new staff … and there’s always a challenge for her. How to keep the hospital running and keep it running smoothly and all of that.”
She added, “I think that what’s been great about Med is that no matter who comes and who goes, the hospital is still going to function.”
The actor also assured that even though the “hospital is in turmoil,” fans will “love this new season.”
In a Reddit discussion about Chicago Med’s second episode of the season, one person pointed out, “That episode 3 trailer??? Who the f**k is threatening Goodwin of all people?”
When one fan predicted, “Maybe the doctor we saw twice?,” they responded, “Yesm the one that looked angry? I think so too… no reason to highlight him specifically otherwise.”
