Chris McKenna may be Jack Brennan on General Hospital, but once upon a time, he was Joey Buchanan on One Life to Live. The excitement was palpable when it was announced that Erika Slezak was coming to GH. She is a stellar actress and a familiar face to many who watched the ABC soap lineup before everything changed in the early 2010s.
Chris McKenna Reunites With Erika Slezak
With Slezak’s debut on GH coming quickly, McKenna shared a few snaps from his reunion with his former TV mom. He first met her when he debuted in the role of Joey Buchanan in 1990 on OLTL. Slezak played his mom, Vicki, for his time in Llanview.
McKenna joined the show at age 12 and left when he was 15. Since then, though, he’s fondly remembered Slezak and her impact on his life. That’s why he was over the moon when the two got to reconnect behind the scenes on GH.
He highlighted the meeting between his family and his TV mom, writing, “Just indescribable having Erika here. To be meeting my family after so many decades apart is incredible. My two mom’s and the mother of my son together. So grateful.”

The coming days will reveal the connection between Slezak’s character and the Quartermaines. Having her in Port Charles after seeing her in Llanview for decades will undoubtedly be a treat for long-time ABC soap viewers.
