Clarkson’s Farm fans have shared their delight after a new update about Gerald Cooper was shared on social media, revealing he is doing well after being treated for cancer
Clarkson’s Farm fans have been left delighted following a new update on Gerald Cooper. The 74 year old has become a fan favourite during his time on the Amazon Prime series.
Gerald helps out at Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm, mainly with construction. In the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy, 64, and co-star Kaleb Cooper shared the sad news that Gerald had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He then underwent treatment and has since been declared cancer-free, leaving fans pleased. A new update on the TV show’s Instagram account showed Gerald looking “healthy” as he returned to the farm.
The 74 year old could be seen wearing a knitted jumper and smiling for the camera against a brick wall. The caption read: “A healthy and happy Gerald!”
Fans flocked to share their support. One said: “Awesome news,” with another added: “Can’t like this enough, we love Gerald!” Someone else commented: “So happy he’s doing well!” A fourth wrote: “Proper job Gerald!” Another fan declared: “Legend.”
Jeremy paid tribute to his co-star Gerald in the Clarkson’s Farm finale, following his cancer battle. The TV star reflected on the year’s ups and downs on Diddly Squat Farm as the series came to a close.
He said: “We have had our usual year of rows, bad weather, disappointments, deaths but let us look at it this way, I became a grandfather for the first time, you became a father again (pointing to Kaleb) and you, the G-Dog beat the big C.” A visibly moved Gerald simply responded: “Yeah,” as the cast all raised their glasses in a toast and said: “Cheers”.
Gerald then expressed his heartfelt gratitude: “I would like to thank everybody, all the film crew, and all my friends here,” before becoming choked up with emotion. “All of you have been so kind to me and my family and thank you very much.”
Jeremy previously opened up about his friendship with co-star Gerald, branding him “fantastic”. A couple of years ago, Jeremy said: “It doesn’t matter if you can’t understand what he’s talking about, because he’s usually talking about Manchester United. He’s fantastic. We’ve known each other for a very long time. He’s 72, also never been outside the village, but has worked on this farm for 50 years. He’s a great dry stone-waller, which is a dying art.”
