Clarkson’s Farm’s Gerald Cooper shares ‘important announcement’ as he drops career news amid cancer all-clear

Clarkson’s Farm star Gerald Cooper shared an “important announcement” with fans on social media.

The TV personality was absent from the first four episodes of the latest Clarkson’s Farm series after revealing he’d been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Thankfully, he was given the all-clear towards the end of the series, and returned with the news he was doing better. It’s thought he will be back on the show for the next series, filming of which has already begun.

On Thursday, he was part of an important online “announcement” as he and Diddly Squat builder Alan Townsend shared some news with fans.

A video posted on Townend’s Instagram read: “An important announcement from Alan and Gerald,” before the two appeared in a vintage car.

“Off to Marston Steam & Vintage Show – here we go, starting off early,” Townsend yelled over the noisy vehicle.

He continued: “Getting a vintage car ready,” before the duo drove off, beeping the horn.

A card then revealed the show would be taking part on August 17 and 18. The event hosts full size and miniature steam engines, tractors and classic cars for fanatics of classic vehicles.

Responding, followers expressed their excitement over the news, with one person writing: “You pair need your own spin off show.”

“It’s the Boys on Tour in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” another quipped, while a third added: “You just can’t beat cars from that era. So full of character!”

“Love it! Enjoy chaps,” another stated, while someone else penned: “Aww I wanna ride.”

“See you both there,” another commented, with one simply posting: “Legends!”

It comes soon after Cooper shared the good news he was feeling “happy and healthy”. Last month, the show’s official X acount posted a snap of the 74-year-old.

“A healthy and happy Gerald!” it read, with fans flooding to express their delight in the comments.
