Dakota Johnson’s most stylish moments
The best looks from Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson
It’s been two years since Dakota Johnson appeared on the big screen as Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey – the cinematic adaptation of E L James’s erotic best selling novel that turned her into a household name. But since Valentine’s Day 2015 when the film was first released, we’ve seen Dakota’s star rise and rise, especially in the style stakes.
What we love most about Dakota Johnson’s style is that she looks equally good regardless of whether she’s sashaying up the red carpet or keeping it casual on the streets of her home town of New York. And she’s not afraid to tackle some of those trickier trends either. So while many people struggle to rock ruffles, pussy bows and mid-length dresses IRL, they’re no problem for Dakota Johnson.
And while Dakota is something of a chameleon, there are a few tried-and-tested looks and labels she tends to favour. One of these is sticking to a simple yet timeless palette of black and white. From slick tuxedos to chic off-duty ensembles, Dakota knows that the easiest way to look stylish is to keep things monochrome. Looking at her effortless, elegant outfits, we’re inclined to agree.
Meanwhile, Dakota is a long-standing fan of Gucci and is often spotted wearing the label to her countless red carpet events. Always a regular in the Italian fashion house’s front row, Dakota has become something of an ambassador for creative director Alessandro Michele’s cool and often quirky designs – an aesthetic the actress sums up perfectly. That yellow Gucci dress she wore to the 2015 LACMA Art and Film Gala, for example? Perfection.
With the Fifty Shades Darker film set for release on Valentine’s Day 2017, get ready to see a lot of more of her rocking her amazing red carpet style soon. In the meantime though, here are some of her best looks so far…
