As NCIS: Los Angeles approaches its conclusion, star Daniela Ruah shared her thoughts on the show’s farewell during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, where she also promoted her role in the upcoming Super Bowl Greatest Commercials: Battle of the Decades special.
Ruah expressed that while she isn’t sad about the series ending, the farewell is undeniably bittersweet. “I think the show has had an amazing, long run; we’ve told phenomenal stories, and the characters have grown and matured in front of everyone,” she said. “It’s bittersweet. Like, it’s time to move on creatively, but it’s going to be so hard not to be with this family of people.”
She reflected on the impact the show has had on its devoted fanbase, sharing, “When you think about the amount of people that approach you and say, ‘This show saved my life’… it makes it mean the world to you.” Ruah expressed gratitude for having been part of a series that resonated with so many viewers, especially those who cherished watching it with loved ones.
On a lighter note, Ruah discussed her enjoyment of hosting the Super Bowl commercial special, highlighting the fun dynamics and humor shared with her co-host Boomer Esiason. “I think every year that passes, we find new things to unravel, new jokes, new jabs at each other,” she said with a smile.
As she prepares to say goodbye to NCIS: Los Angeles, Ruah remains thankful for the journey and the relationships formed over the years, acknowledging the significance of the show in the lives of its fans.
