During the Dream It At Home 20 event on May 7, she opened up about her journey in directing the gripping Season 6 episode titled “Dirty Laundry.”

A Dream Realized

Savre’s directorial debut aired on May 4, 2023, and the actress expressed a mix of excitement and relief now that the episode has been released. Looking Ahead: Season 7 Aspirations

With the recent confirmation of Station 19‘s Season 7, Savre is hopeful about directing another episode. “I asked if I could direct another one next season, so I hope it can happen,” she shared. However, she acknowledged the challenges of juggling directing with the demanding shooting schedule of Station 19, which can span up to nine months. Despite this, her ambition extends beyond just this series; she is eager to explore directing other projects as well.

A New Perspective on Writing

While Savre is enthusiastic about directing, she admitted that writing is a different story. “I think I wouldn’t be very comfortable as a screenwriter! But you should never say never,” she noted. Her journey into directing is a testament to her belief in embracing new challenges, even ones she previously thought she’d avoid.

Potential Collaborations with Grey’s Anatomy

When asked about the possibility of directing episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, the parent series of Station 19, Savre’s eyes lit up. “That would be great!” she exclaimed, though she remained realistic about the likelihood of such an opportunity. She also humorously remarked that if she had played Miranda Bailey, it would be amusing to be married to Ben Warren, played by Jason George, given their real-life camaraderie.
