Days of Our Lives Bombshell: Even Sophia Didn’t Know Tate Isn’t Tesoro’s Father md18

Well, we’re genuinely shocked to learn after Wednesday’s Days of Our Lives episode that Sophia wasn’t even aware Tate wasn’t the father! Here we thought she was pulling one over on everyone to tie herself to Tate. But she seemed genuinely stunned when Sarah told her Tate isn’t Tesoro’s daddy. Of course, now she is planning on willfully pulling the wool over Tate’s eyes to keep him stuck to her, but it doesn’t seem to have started out that way.

She told Sarah that it’s better to just leave things be and not rock the boat, but we’re pretty sure she just means better for her. Tate will still spend his life torturing himself about his lost baby — who doesn’t even exist!

As Leo Howard mused to Soaps, “I do think Tate really wants this baby deep down. Everything he’s saying is true about how the baby will have a better life with someone else. I think that it’s the first situation in life where he really has to come to terms with the adult-like complexity of the situation where he may want to be the father of this baby and be in the kid’s life.”

And that kind of puts Sophia in an impossible situation. So long as Tate thinks the baby’s his, he’ll be more interested in being a father, than in Sophia. But if he finds out he’s not a dad (and that Sophia now knows the truth and is keeping it from him), there goes any chance of Sophia winning him over. Then there’s the added complication of Tesoro’s real father still being out there somewhere.

Who Is the Father of Sophia’s Baby?

Days of Our Lives: Tate's In the Clear, So Who Is Tesoro's Real Father?

Sophia won’t tell Sarah who that is, but our guess has been pretty consistent for some time: Aaron. It’s something we floated ages ago, but it had seemed like the show just wasn’t going to go there. Now, though, they have to! And Sophia’s reaction to learning the truth seems to have confirmed it. She didn’t think there was another possibility to even question Tate’s paternity, which probably means it was just something that happened once and was done.

And that fits in with the reason we’ve been thinking it could be Aaron. There was that one night, he and Sophia hung out to watch Peacock, and if something quick happened, that’s all that was needed. It could have been something so brief Sophia didn’t even give it a thought as a possibility. But anything is possible, especially since we know Sophia and Tate used a condom!

The truth has to come out, eventually, especially as we don’t see Tate letting go of this, despite his promise to Sophia. As Howard pointed out about Tate’s current obsession with tracking down the family, “All these feelings, he just doesn’t know where to put them. So, I think it becomes contact in the family. If you watch, there’s all these different things that Tate does through this storyline. He gets really glommed on to certain things.

“And I think that’s pretty realistic, right? In situations, we take all of our feelings and put it into one thing. And then when that doesn’t work, okay, change it to the other thing instead of just dealing with the feeling itself.”

And now that it looks like none of it is going to work out? Tate may just be left lost and confused — not to mention, utterly devastated!
