I guess you could say…she’s really feeling it
When it comes to putting together posts for GoNintendo, there is nothing I love more than a random Nintendo reference. I sincerely mean that, too! I love seeing Nintendo mentions pop up in completely unexpected places, and we’ve got a double nod to the Big N to share with you today.
Days of our Lives is a soap opera that’s been running since 1965. Obviously quite a lot has changed since the show originally aired, but it keeps going strong literally 60 years later. You can catch brand-new episodes on the Peacock streaming service right now, and there’s one in particular you might want to tune in for.
Reader Marl0 reached out to let us know that the Sept. 3rd, 2025 episode of Days of our Lives dropped not one, but two different references to Nintendo. The best part of all is that the references are being used as part of a pick-up line, and apparently the combo works! Check out the clip above to see the banter between characters Aaron and Arianna, which ends with the duo stepping away for some Xenoblade action.
Of course, the big question after watching the clip is just what Xenoblade game are they playing? Literally every Xenoblade game is available on Switch, including the original, 2, 3 and X. I have a feeling the regular watchers of Days of our Lives really don’t care, but we do!
Clearly someone on the writing team has a very soft spot for Nintendo and Xenoblade, so hopefully this is just the first of many references going forward!
