Days of our Lives Recap: Chad Delivers a Masterclass in Tough Love — Brady, Take Notes! md18

On the November 3 episode of Days of our Lives, Thomas let Rachel talk him into launching a pumpkin at Cat. It ended up hitting Alex, instead. Chad was furious with his son. And he let him know that in a series of perfectly-written scenes. Scenes that Brady would be wise to pay attention to… and copy when it comes to his own precious bundle of joy, Rachel.

Key Takeaways

  • Thomas and Rachel got caught.
  • Chad let Thomas know his behavior was unacceptable and made him apologize.
  • Brady and Kristen should follow suit — though we doubt they will.

Rachel and Thomas got Busted!

Rachel (Alice Halsey) doesn’t have a woman to chase out of Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) life these days. So she has to get her jollies elsewhere. This means urging Thomas (Cary Christopher) to throw a pumpkin at Cat (AnnaLynne McCord), a woman his own dad is no longer even dating.

Chad (Billy Flynn) quickly figured out that even though Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) ended up covered in orange guts, Cat was the true target, and he called the kids out on it. Rachel, who talks a tough game, folded instantly. Chad sent her away to be dealt with by Marlena (Deidre Hall). But he didn’t shy away from disciplining his own child.

Chad’s Tough Talk

Chad didn’t just call Thomas out on his actions; he wouldn’t let his son make any excuses for his behavior, and then marched him over to apologize to Alex. He then told Thomas that when things bother him, he should let Chad know—not take his anger out on innocent holiday decorations. Chad did everything right in the parenting department, and Thomas will be the better for it.

The Opposite of Right

Meanwhile, Rachel got a stern talking-to from Susan (Stacy Haiduk), but she pretty much rolled her spoiled eyes through most of it. We presume Marlena will be displeased with her granddaughter’s actions, but considering she’s already letting Rachel get away with murder, just how stern will she get?

She’ll likely leave it up to Brady, who will want to know why Rachel felt compelled to act out like this and what he can do to make her happy so that such little incidents don’t happen again. He will frown, maybe even shake his finger at her. But, at the end of the day, there will be ice cream and a hug to make her feel better about herself.

As for Kristen (also Stay Haiduk), if she’s filled in about her daughter’s Halloween adventures, she’ll cheer and make Rachel relay the night in great detail, so they can giggle at her brilliance. Rachel is mommy’s precious little girl, and she’s so, so clever, isn’t she?
