After her daughter Sydney had an off-screen accident, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) missed the funeral of her stepdad John (Drake Hogestyn) on Days of Our Lives. Now, TV Insider reports, the hell-raiser will come back to town starting Monday, Aug. 4, and be able to mourn John.
Sweeney shared how upset she was that her schedule didn’t permit her to come back to the show to film John’s funeral scenes with the cast. Sami and Marlena (Deidre Hall) will get time to grieve their shared loss, though Sami had a difficult relationship with John (to say the least!) over the decades.
What can fans expect from the touching moments between mother and daughter? Sweeney teased:
It is one of those mom/daughter moments where you really don’t have to say anything. It is just an extremely emotional moment as the hug and cry, and it is really heartbreaking.
